IFS became the backbone of all Bird Technologies data

Bird Technologies, based in Solon, OH develops and manufactures RF Products and Solutions for Government, Military, and Commercial applications. Bird Technologies strongly believes in innovation and growth. As such, Bird Technologies needed to improve their internal data management and business processes to support sustainable growth, through better technology and more efficient operations. To affect this outcome, Bird Technologies selected IFS and IFS Applications 10 to be purchased and implemented. In coordination with the IFS Sales Team, Enterprise Consulting, Inc. a Platinum Certified IFS Channel Partner, was selected to lead the IFS Implementation for Bird Technologies.

As Enterprise Consulting began designing the IFS Solution for Bird Technologies, several key goals for the new IFS ERP Solution were established. The first of these was to modernize the overall corporate data management structure. By implementing IFS Applications 10 across all aspects and areas of the Bird Technologies business, and by deploying IFS Applications 10 as a Cloud solution in the Enterprise Azure Managed Cloud, this goal was realized. The second goal was to have “one version of the truth”, meaning instead of several cobbled applications and manual data silos, IFS became the backbone of all Bird Technologies data. This has led to well improved data accuracies, labor efficiencies, and the ability for the Management team to quickly use accurate information to guide the company forward. Two examples of this are and overall improvement of inventory accuracy to a level of 98+% and the ability to close the financial books in two days rather than several weeks.

This was a very challenging project. The Bird Technologies Team was greatly stretched throughout balancing the needs of the Implementation Project with the day-to-day needs of a growing business. Added on top was the fact that the bulk of the Implementation was undertaken in the midst of the Pandemic making coordination that much more difficult. Enterprise Consulting, with the support of Bird Technologies, re-engineered the traditional ERP implementation model to conform with greatly changing conditions, a model that will be applicable going forward to the benefit of customers and Enterprise Consulting alike. The Enterprise Team demonstrated great leadership and strong focus throughout, but credit goes to the amazing team at Bird Technologies.
