Enterprise Consulting Upgrades Minco Products from IFS Applications 8.1 to IFS Applications 10
As Minco Products continued to grow, developing an increasing multi-national presence and adding new product lines, there was an increasing risk that the overall deployed solution (IFS Applications 8.1) would not be as robust as Minco required to support future growth, so they began looking at the capabilities of IFS Applications 10.
Enterprise Consulting was initially chosen by Minco Products to evaluate capabilities and availability of Minco’s resources to determine which tasks would need to be completed by Enterprise Consulting resources while incorporating scheduling and budgetary considerations. Enterprise Consulting was then selected to implement the IFS Applications 10 Upgrade for Minco Products, kicking off in May of 2019.
Enterprise Consulting provided guidance and their proprietary upgrade methodology to assist Minco Products throughout all phases of the project with:
Functional Support
Conducting Gap/differences training with Minco core team members between the IFS Applications 8.1 and Applications 10 versions in the US and EU facilities
Providing business process design expertise in the creation and validation of revised business processes
Technical Support
IFS installation support including DBA execution of 10 upgrade passes to ensure that the go live cutover could occur within a 23-hour window
Gap training on the IFS Foundation 1 Administration suite including Lobby deployment
Software Support
Triage and resolution of custom configurations and code developed by Minco in earlier releases
Escalation and management of core IFS defects via the IFS case tracking tool
Project Management
Tailoring of Enterprise Consulting specific Upgrade templates aligned to Minco goals and objectives
Leadership and guidance across all project phases with detailed management of both customer and Enterprise Consulting deliverables
In May of 2020, Minco Products went live on IFS Applications 10, Update 6. The original project drivers were all successfully addressed by the upgrade -- future proofed and stable infrastructure and platform, reduced overall IT maintenance costs, new and improved functionality for current and future facilities and new business lines -- all delivered on time and on budget by Enterprise Consulting.
